Slammers end with new record Monday, March 1st 2010
The 2003 record of 90 points in 52 games was set by a remarkable Abbies team, but the accomplishments of the Slammers in 2009-2010 have been simply incredible. After 50 games, the Slammers head into the playoofs having won 45 games with just three regulation time losses for 92 points.
When asked about setting the new league record for most points in a season Tatarnic had this to say "the guys wanted to break that record and they should be proud of thier accomplishment. When you stop and really look at what these guys have achieved this year in the regular season is remarkable. It takes pride, dedication and a great work ethic to achieve what they have so far. I applaud them. Now it's time to start focusing on playoffs and the Dieppe Commandos."
The Slammers begin their series with Dieppe on Friday at 7pm at the Carlton Civic Centre. |
